This was on full view of everyone leaving ASDA in Wakefield.
It was on one of those four-sided display cubes with the papers on the bottom, magazines on the top. This could have been put around the back so that it was out of sight of children.
My daughter had asked why she was showing her boobs, so I thought it would be nice for the Manager to answer that - sadly he wasn't there to face embarrassment, but the people I did speak to agreed it was inappropriate for the prime position it was in, and they removed all copies from the stand!
I was told though that they are told where to put magazines, so I will write to ASDA HQ to see what their official line is on the placement of Lads Mags.

Here's a typical example of the irony of our work - I wasn't sure whether it would be okay to allow this post with the image. Apparently someone somewhere thinks it's okay to show this to our children, but I have made the image much smaller, since many of our supporters don't want to be subjected to it (and rightly so). But unfortunately, we need the images as nothing makes the problem clearer.
Well done Adele, for tackling the management of Asda regarding this imposing in your face tactic of selling this type of material, which seems to be on the increase.
I have confronted a few retailers who are using lads magazines with the same 'point of sale tactics' as this.
One retailer a local newsagent told me they get paid money to sell these titles at more prominent positioning! .
Another manager said he would get in trouble from head office if he moved the display, even though he was the manager of the actual shop, what made it more terrible was the fact that the man who managed the shop agreed with me that it was not acceptable to have it in view of children. He even went further to say that Porn of all kinds really should be banned full stop, which really took me by surprise.
And sadly yes Amy it is an irony to see these images on here but the shocking truth of matters like this does indeed shock .... but how hard it hits home to see it here when it is coupled with the facts that our children and all of us are being drip fed these images in our day to day lives.
