Why do people call this material "Adult" when it is anything but adult? It's the kind of thing that schoolboys share behind the bike shed.I guess some people never get beyond being "school boys".
I think we should put our minds to inventing another term. Something that gives a truer descrption of what the material is about.
Wait a minute. There already is a term. It's "Pornography".
I'd agree with that. Wow, it's quiet in here! I think the term "Adult" should stop being used really, it gives children the impression that pornography is part of what being an adult is about, when actually if anything being adult is being able to move beyond exploitative imagery and relate to real people.
I think it's sad that people still see pornography as naughty or daring or rebellious in some way. Really it's just lame.
But I love that this campaign addresses the fact that a lot of children are forced to look at it, even when they're out and about. It's horrible even for adults who don't like it to have to see it (I occasionally have to visit the same shelf to extract a sci-fi magazine) but at least our sexuality is fully formed and not open to such damage.
